Call for applications – State Boards of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

16 Sep 2022

We are seeking individuals with an ability and interest to contribute to the regulatory work of the State Boards. Practitioners will bring sound experience in the nursing and/or midwifery professions. Community members will have strong community connections to bring a public/lay perspective.

Applications are now sought from community members, registered nurses, registered midwives and enrolled nurses and to fill vacancies arising in the following jurisdictions:

  • New South Wales (NSW) – 3 community members and 4 practitioner members
  • Queensland – 1 community member and 2 practitioner members (including Chair*)

*Practitioner member applicants may express interest in the role of Chair; however, this is not mandatory.

The State Boards work in partnership with Ahpra to make registration and notification (complaint) decisions about individual practitioners, based on national policies and standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Notifications are not handled by the State Boards in NSW.

More information can be found on Ahpra’s page.

Ahpra’s current COVID-19 Vaccination Policy requires all staff and statutory appointees to provide evidence of vaccination (or medical exemption) prior to visiting an Ahpra office.

For enquiries, please contact: statutoryappointments@ahpra.gov.au.

Employees and contractors for Ahpra are not eligible for these positions.

Applications open: Saturday 17 September, 12.05am AEST

Applications close: Sunday 30 October 2022, 11.55pm AEDT
