MCQ for midwives

The Midwives MCQ Examination is delivered by Aspeq and uses an MCQ examination online platform.

Once your portfolio has been approved in your Ahpra record, you will be contacted via email to confirm your eligibility to sit the MCQ exam. Your Ahpra candidate tracker will update, and you will be advised to contact Aspeq to register to sit the MCQ.

After your registration is completed in the Aspeq System, you will need to be authorised to sit the exam and once this is approved, you will be referred to contact Aspeq to book your examination date and time.

 

Candidates within Australia and New Zealand who are eligible to sit the MCQ must attend a testing centre and will be advised of available locations once they contact Aspeq to complete their registration to sit the examination.

International candidates who are eligible to sit the MCQ can participate remotely once they contact Aspeq to complete their registration to sit the examination.

The MCQ fee must be paid prior to confirming your examination date. Effective from 1 May 2022 the fee is $173 AUD + local sitting fee per sitting. 

Candidates who are sitting the MCQ remotely, or who require reasonable adjustments may be charged an additional fee.

OSCE for midwives

The OSCE is delivered at Adelaide Health Simulation (AHS) in Adelaide, South Australia.

No contact should be made to Adelaide Health Simulation in relation to the OSCE. All queries should be directed to the IQNM exams team.

Your MCQ result will be recorded within your Ahpra record. If you have passed the MCQ you will be contacted by Ahpra to let you know that you are eligible to sit the OSCE. You will need to pay the OSCE fee at this time.

Once your fee payment has been received the IQNM exams team will contact you in relation to upcoming dates for OSCE examinations.

The fee is $4000 AUD per sitting. The OSCE fee must be paid prior to confirming your examination date.
